There has been a 15.3% month-over-month increase in healthcare data breaches reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights (OCR) in November.
In October, 57 healthcare data breaches of 500 or more records were reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights.
There has been a fall in the number of reported healthcare data breaches for the second consecutive month to the lowest monthly total since October 2023.
March was a particularly bad month for healthcare data breaches with 93 breaches of 500 or more records reported to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
