There has been a fall in the number of reported healthcare data breaches for the second consecutive month to the lowest monthly total since October 2023.
March was a particularly bad month for healthcare data breaches with 93 breaches of 500 or more records reported to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
In January, 61 data breaches of 500 or more records were reported to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR).
For the second consecutive month, the number of reported data breaches of 500 or more healthcare records has fallen, with October seeing the joint-lowest number of reported data breaches this year.
